220v Solenoid valves are used to close, open, dose, distribute or mix the flow of gas or liquid in a pipe. The specific purpose of a solenoid valve is expressed by its circuit function.
When an electrical current is passed through the solenoid coil, a magnetic field is generated which causes a ferrous metal rod to move. This is the basic process that opens the valve and it works either directly or indirectly on the air. Normally Closed (N/C), the valve remains closed when the solenoid is not charged.
Different types of solenoids
- Direct-acting valves. These solenoids have a coil that magnetically opens the valve in a direct action, causing the shaft and the seat of the valve to shift.
